In the 2006 election we increased our share of the vote to come second, achieving double the votes polled by Labour.
Our priority is to convince at least 25% of the electors who did not vote that they should vote Lib Dem next time. This would propel us into first position.
Campaign issues in Oakleigh
In Oakleigh ward the Team have been working tirelessly for the
benefit of the local area. We regularly deliver Focus newsletters to advise residents of current issues.

In our leaflets we like to highlight the work we have done to improve the area and report on community issues such
as policing.

The team give help and advice to local residents on issues as
diverse as planned major housing developments, problems with teenagers throwing stones, illegal dumping, problem tree roots, rusting telephone junction boxes and damaged pavements.

The Team have also put out eight letters this year, regarding local issues, to selected streets. We also have also highlighted the threat of house building to local Rugby pitches and Tennis courts.

* The Non Voter numbers have been calculated by subtracting the total votes cast from the
total possible taking all eligible voters as having 3 votes. The result is an underestimate as
some ballot papers will have been spoiled and some voters will not have exercised all 3 votes.
